We partner with educator preparation programs, districts, and residency programs to design customized support — combining live instruction, coaching, diagnostic assessment, and proven resources — so your candidates pass with confidence and carry what they've learned into the classroom, where it really matters.
Our Partnership Services
Self-Paced Course
Used by thousands of educator candidates across the country, and developed and refined over 20 years, our self-paced course addresses each objective of Pearson's Foundations of Reading test. It includes:
• Video Modules: 40+ Mini Modules
• Study Guide: 200+ page physical guide
• Self-Assessments: Aligned to test format
• Multiple Choice and Open Response
• Access via desktop or mobile app
Our course can be seamlessly integrated into university coursework to build a genuine bridge between rigorous course content and test demands, rather than letting test prep take over.
Available for individual purchase, in bulk for programs and districts, and as part of a comprehensive package.
Live Instruction & Coaching
Live workshops, institutes, cohort courses, and individualized coaching in-person or via Zoom — layered on top of the self-paced course — to provide participants with:
• Instruction in content and test-taking
• Practice with a peer group
• Feedback and coaching
Professional learning matched to your program provided by one of TLA's Foundations of Reading experts.
Test Simulation & Diagnostic
TLA's own full-length test gives candidates the opportunity to "experience the test before it counts."
Available as an add-on for partners, the Test Simulations are offered via Zoom on select Saturdays throughout the year.
Candidates:
• Receive same-day, detailed, score reports
• Participate in post-test debrief addressing content and test-taking strategies
• Build a study plan and learn to maximize study time by identifying areas of strength and areas to target.
The Test Simulation can also be contracted as a standalone event — hosted at your institution, in person or remote, or offered jointly across multiple partners.
Support to Use Our Resources
Faculty Consultation: We build around your syllabus, not the other way around. Because our modules do not need to be completed in sequence, we can align instructional content to exactly when your faculty are teaching it.
Training for Tutors: We also work to build long term capacity by conducting "train the trainers" sessions for tutors who learn to use our materials in their work with individuals.
100% of tutors in the para-to-educator "Paradigm Shift" program in Western Massachusetts, said they'd recommend this training model to colleagues.
Classroom-Based Coaching
We support classroom application through demonstration lessons and coaching cycles for individuals and small groups of educators — tapping into the same high-impact instructional and assessment routines woven into the test that also make a real difference for kids.
